Education
Empower Ireland has an established track record in empowering young people and adults through the medium of education. Employment is the cornerstone of independence and education enhances individuals prospects of employment and thus underpins much the work of Empower Ireland. Maurice Fenton was employed within the Department of Education and Science from 2001-2004 and has developed and delivered customised programmes within the former FETAC framework over the past decade.
Training
Empower Ireland has been delivering mentoring training for many years and is now available to deliver this training to external agencies. Empower Ireland specialises in mentoring services to young people both preparing to leave care and in aftercare for several years. We have had remarkable success in engaging with and supporting young people during this period of transition. This training can be negotiated to the individual needs of organisations and their clients. Maurice was the first trainer, other than the developers, of Therapeutic Use of Daily Life Events (DLE), a CYC based training programme for adults working with young people and he is available to deliver this training externally. Maurice has been a certified trainer of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Cornel University, for eight years.
